Who we are

Tearfund is a Belgian registered Christian relief and development agency, working particularly to improve the living standards of vulnerable and marginalized people in some of the world’s poorest and distressed countries.
Tearfund started in 1979 with fundraising and works now in different countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
A fully developed national secretariat is the backbone of the agency and is located in Vilvoorde, just 10 minutes drive from Brussels National Airport.

Our mission expresses our mandate, the specific role in achieving our vision:

"Bringing people together in the fight against poverty and injustice"

Combating poverty and injustice, so that each person may experience life as a blessing, but with special attention to the situation of women and children in the South as mainstream.

If you are a relief and/or development agency looking for financial resources (grants, subsidies, ), we are sorry to tell you that all applications for funds are rejected, except for requests from partners with whom we have an existing partnership agreement.
